Ever since our humble beginnings, the bi-folding door has always been the beating heart at the centre of Solarlux. Herbert Holtgreife and Heinz-Theo Ebbert first began designing and selling the bi-folding door back in 1983. Ever since then, passion, perfection and enthusiasm have played a key role in everything that has helped Solarlux move forward as a company. As can be seen from the 28,000 bi-folding door panels we install every year, this very first product is still hugely popular among today’s architectural trends.

All of Solarlux’s systems are made in Germany – in the north-western town of Melle, just outside Osnabrück, to be precise. The “Made in Germany” seal found on all Solarlux products is a genuine promise of quality. In addition to being tailor-made to suit each of our customers’ bespoke needs, all of our systems are also tested by renowned independent institutes. Our in-house Research and Development department ensures that we keep improving our existing products and coming up with new ideas. For us, that’s all part of the “Made in Germany” promise.
