Accessibility with bi-folding doors

Accessibility and convenience

Bi-folding doors from Solarlux provide a pleasant sense of transparency and improve quality of life. They extend living spaces almost limitlessly to include the outdoors, creating seamless transitions from the inside to the outside and vice versa. These transitions are highly convenient, providing freedom in every respect.

Open plan living

Unlike sliding/patio doors, which can leave a large section of the opening covered by glass even when fully open, the individual elements of the bi-folding door gather up into a slender bundle of panels to one side. This produces generous glass fronts that can be opened across almost 100% of the opening whilst still offering maximum protection when closed.

Thanks to the countless opening options available – inwards or outwards, folding to the left and/or to the right – Solarlux bi-folding doors offer maximum creative freedom when designing a new home or extension. The individual glass elements can be opened or closed in just a few simple, smooth steps.

Accessibility

Our barrier-free floor rails have durable stainless steel runners and castors, making Solarlux bi-folding glass doors extremely appropriate and meeting all requirements for barrier-free access living areas.

Illuminated floor tracks are also available; the 3s impact protection can be fitted with LED lights and concealed cabling. The lighting creates a great ambience, especially in the evening. What is more, this orientation aid also ensures that the access and entry area is easy to find for the visually impaired, as required by German standard DIN 18040.
