Solarlux presents the Alerio glass canopy

Internal structural reinforcement, implemented perfectly

The new Solarlux monopitch roof with internal structural reinforcement – available now – is the perfect addition to the company’s product portfolio, as it can be used to create a completely flat roof surface. Once again, the premium manufacturer of glazed extensions and facade solutions has come up with a sophisticated response to the latest architectural trends thanks to its excellent design credentials.

Solarlux has more than 35 years of experience in producing glass canopies and glass houses. The manufacturer provides canopy and roof systems with both external and internal structural reinforcement. The Alerio rounds off the existing Solarlux product range perfectly, allowing the company to cater to every aspect of glass canopy design — including complex custom solutions. Like all of Solarlux’s other glass canopies, the Alerio can be transformed into a glass house by adding moving Solarlux glass elements.

Precision and a passion for detail
Solarlux glass canopies are the perfect solution for anyone who likes to live in their garden 365 days a year. 2019 saw the launch of the now multi-award-winning Acubis flat canopy, which heralded a new, cubic design standard for the sector. The new Alerio glass canopy is the next logical step in the evolution of this design philosophy: a sophisticated design that transposes the feel of the interior to the garden outside. The precision afforded to the details demonstrates once again the quality of Solarlux’s designers – the impressive Alerio offers the perfect blend of a delicate construction, bold edges, highly accurate profiles and durable functionality.

A consistent look
At the heart of this elegant new product is an internal rafter that supports the roof. This is available in two different designs depending on the structural requirements of the project at hand, and can also be fitted with built-in LED lighting. The cables are concealed in the rafter and routed to a cable duct beneath the one-piece wall joint, whose flat shape lends the look a sense of lightness.

The canopy’s drainage system takes the form of either a gutter or an optional, invisible flow into the pillar, and can be angled anywhere between 5° and 20°. The straight lines and square facing of the eaves emphasise the elegance of the internal structural reinforcement, with slender aluminium elements that combine to form a harmonious, minimalist whole.

Creative freedom
The wide range of profiles available opens up a whole range of options when it comes to planning your design. If you want to use a custom design, steel reinforcements can be inserted into the hollow chambers of the bearing profiles. When combined with variable-position pillars, this will enable you to create large roof constructions with huge openings. Single glazing made of laminated safety glass with a thickness of 8, 10 or 12 mm is used in the roof area.

Suitable for all types of building structures
The Alerio can be set up as a free-standing construction or connected to the building’s existing architecture via a wall joint to make an open, closed or partially closed glass canopy. Transparent vertical elements can easily be added to the glass canopy to turn it into a cosy glass house, even after the original installation.

Wide range of accessories direct from Solarlux
Solarlux’s bespoke solution is also impressive in terms of its system components. The roof and vertical elements tailored precisely to work in perfect harmony with one another: the vertical, all-glass sliding and slide-and-turn elements, non-insulated bi-folding doors, and fixed elements are all perfect ways of extending the canopy to create a glass house. As well as an underglass awning, it is also possible to install vertical shades as an option. The fact that the entire solution comes from a single source provides a long-lasting guarantee on the functionality of all the elements involved.

Simple installation
The Alerio is pre-fabricated before being delivered to the construction site in order to cut down on installation time. The one-piece wall joint also makes it easier to install. The Alerio also comes with an ingenious design feature that has already proven so effective in the Acubis: the reversible pillars make it easy to access the downpipe even after the system has been fully installed.

Safety and service
Test certificates from reputable national and international institutes guarantee the highest level of functional reliability, stability and durability. On top of this, the fully tested structural specifications also offer peace of mind in extreme weather conditions, such as snowfall leading to snow drifts, high winds and even hurricanes. The Alerio has been designed and developed accordingly based on the DIN 18 008 series of standards. As a systems partner with an extensive range of services and a team of experienced consultants and technicians, Solarlux is on hand to help during every phase of the planning.
