Open – through and through

A cubic springboard into nature

Living without the confinement of walls. Living in one single, open space. Being as close as possible to nature. All this was made possible with a build that is as distinctive as it is clever, and consciously leaves convention behind. The result is an incomparable living experience that redefines open space.

Built on a slope, the house has two floors. However, life unfolds almost entirely on the significantly larger top floor – which also backs onto the forest at ground level. The kitchen, dining area, living room and – around the corner, next to the stairs – the office and bedroom: everything is seamlessly connected without doors. The only door on the entire floor is in the bathroom.

To fulfil the desire for openness between the indoors and outdoors too, multiple bi-folding doors from the manufacturer Solarlux were used. Accordingly, the large front of the living room with a view of the valley can be opened along almost its entire eight-metre width. In the office and bedroom, two bi-folding door meet at a right angle. When slid apart, they create an opening in the facade – without an obtrusive corner post. The room is transformed into a spacious entranceway to the forest.
