Once again, a Solarlux has won the German Design Award. The modern Avalis room extension system was a hit across the board with this year’s jury, who awarded the cubic architectural solution an above-average score in every rating category.
The Avalis flat canopy has won this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD, adding its name to the long list of products that have received the illustrious design label. The Avalis emerged as the victor in the “Building Technology” category of the “Product” discipline.
The iF Design Award is handed out on an annual basis by iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover – the world’s oldest independent design institution. There were plenty of applicants to this year’s competition, and the jurors had to sort through almost 10,000 submissions from 52 different countries before declaring the recipients of the coveted seal of quality.
The 98-strong jury of international experts gave the thermally insulated flat canopy outstanding ratings. They were impressed with Avalis as a successful addition to the Solarlux portfolio, praising its form and functionality, concept and sustainability. The spatial concept combines architectural aesthetics, versatility, modularity and energy efficiency.
Avalis provides a purist proportional framework that focuses on what really matters. It can also be incorporated into a vast range of different construction projects and styles, and provides both maximum transparency and outstanding thermal insulation and impermeability. Thanks to its high degree of pre-fabrication, the Avalis can be transformed into an ingenious living space extension in no time at all.
Solarlux bi-folding doors and the slender cero sliding window offer a variety of options for transparent glazing. Both systems blend in seamlessly with the Avalis’ minimalist design, and can be opened up across a wide area to allow the living space to merge with its outdoor surroundings. Every Avalis is a made-to-measure, solid wood construction. The built-in roof hatch, lighting and other elements can be configured to suit the customer’s needs. On top of this, the wide range of design options and variants offers planners and homeowners plenty of creative freedom.
